Djalouz Art 2.091

Publisher Description

************************** Djalouz Art Born in 1985 and raised in Paris, Djalouz is a French mixed media artist and street activist. In 2003, he graduated in design and became involved in graffiti. He was directly inspired by the young French and European rising scene (Marko 93, Dire132, Daim, Vesod, Dran, Gris One, Inti, Vhils, No art...) and also by comic strip universe (Enki Bilal, Frank Miller). Spray can has always been Djalouz s favourite instrument, its ideal for large format paintings and can be applied on multiple surfaces. Abandoned industrial sites, wastelands and other places worn out by time allow him to open new universes . In 2009 Djalouz puts aside his figurative work and develops an abstractive one through shapes and volume performing into incongruous places. From then on, Djalouz has never stopped to take graffiti out of its own conventions by painting from the ground to the ceiling and wherever! Through streets and industrial wastelands as well as on the canvas or artwork, Djalouz s work takes sense from elements surrounding it. They create a melody inspired by the melancholy of the place. Photography has also an important role in emotional transcription by leaving a trace of these works that due to their very nature are bound to disappear. Manufactured landscapes are by far his favourite playground. With canvas painting, Djalouz buries himself into the frame and confers a soul to it. A soul inspired by these disused places scarred by time. His continuous evolution is ongoing and his experimentation has no limit. Beyond the canvas and walls, the gate of his imagination is deep and wide.
